Glancing at the details of the church building and monuments, you know you are in King Richard III country and a place with royal historic connections. The octagonal tower sparkles in the sunshine outside, while inside has the most fan-tastic vaulting. The font and pulpit are richly decorated.
Whilst on a countryside walk, we stepped into this lovely church and were so glad that we did. Although a working church, there is also space for a small museum and the story of the church from build until present day. As a Scot, I was very interested in the story of Mary Queen of Scots which is laid out for all to read. The box pews were particularly lovely. We spent around 30 minutes just reading and looking. Well worth a visit.

Just along the main road from Elton Hall we parked on the grass. Huge church & graveyard but a lot of the inside of the church has been ruined as usual by the Victorian's but still worth a visit. As you go in there's some info sheets on a table & it still has some artefacts that are 14c. One down side someone had dropped chewing gum on the gravel path which I trod on & is still on my shoe!

A church along the Nene Way route. The building reflects the guidance in the 13th century that encouraged the expansion of churches, with additional changes later too. Some green man pagan images in the roof bosses.

We went for the two course offer from the main menu but the specials board looked interesting. Food was good but overall rating suffered slightly because a string of items on the menu where not available and they served cold beer in a warm, just washed, glass. Waitress had a difficult time as poor communication between the kitchen and the staff meant she had to keep returning to say menu items we'd ordered weren't available. Their pie of the day is not a pie (surrounded by pastry) but a filling with a pastry lid. Pubs shouldn't be allowed to market such things as a "pie" Bit disappointing as this was the first visit to what should be our new local.
Rated for the Bar and location only. Have not eaten or stayed here. The location is lovely in a nice village. It has a lovely beer garden with a good selection of seating, most with an umbrella. The bar is small but nice and staff seem friendly.

We went for a birthday tea party in the marquee. A nice venue, comfortable with room for about 10 round tables seating 8 at each. We had mixed sandwiches, homemade scones with jam and cream, strawberries and small fancy cakes. Plenty of tea and coffee. All served on mixed vintage china. Very nice.
Excellent food lovely friendly staff and atmosphere reasonably priced great menu

Just sat outside on the terrace and had lunch. The food was excellent and if you like huge portions, this is the place to go. Staff were also very friendly and service was great.
Great find... Came in here with my family whilst the Gin Festival was on and blown away with the variety of drinks on offer. I even managed to find something I'd never tried before! The food was delicious and its refreshing to find somewhere that doesn't skimp on portion sizes! Left happy, full and booked for next month! Recommend completely 5*
