Glancing at the details of the church building and monuments, you know you are in King Richard III country and a place with royal historic connections. The octagonal tower sparkles in the sunshine outside, while inside has the most fan-tastic vaulting. The font and pulpit are richly decorated.
Whilst on a countryside walk, we stepped into this lovely church and were so glad that we did. Although a working church, there is also space for a small museum and the story of the church from build until present day. As a Scot, I was very interested in the story of Mary Queen of Scots which is laid out for all to read. The box pews were particularly lovely. We spent around 30 minutes just reading and looking. Well worth a visit.

The current building mostly dates from 12th and 13th centuries. But it's perhaps most famous for its much more recent connect to Coco the Clown, who is buried in the grounds. There's free parking on the road near the church.
During a walk we entered the grounds of this lovely - from the outside - church. Unfortunately, there was a large, locked black mesh across the entrance so we couldn't look inside.

Fantastic little shop and post office - the opening hours are absolutely brilliant and Rob and his family always make me feel very welcome. Great selection of chilled wines and useful local shop with everything you'd expect.
